Transitional Kindergarten
Mrs. Martinez

Mrs. Martinez has taught Kindergarten at Webster for 2 years. This is Mrs. Martinez’s second year teaching Dual Immersion. Mrs. Martinez is passionate about teaching DI Kindergarten because of the fulfilling feeling that comes with teaching a child to read in both Spanish and English. Mrs. Martinez believes that Webster’s Dual Immersion program provides students with a greater appreciation and respect for other cultures and languages. Mrs. Martinez is passionate about teaching because it allows her to change the world one child at a time. During her free time, Mrs. Martinez enjoys traveling, watching movies, trying new restaurant, and spending time with loved ones.

Mrs. Vazquez
Mrs. Vazquez has been teaching for the LBUSD for 24 years. She taught kindergarten, first grade multi-age, pre-kinder-kinder, and first grade. The last 15 years she has been teaching kindergarten Dual Immersion at Webster. Being a Dual Immersion teacher gives her the opportunity to provide a quality bilingual education to all her students. They gain grade level academic ability, well -developed language and literacy skills in both English and Spanish.
When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and reading books in her backyard.

Mrs. Alonso
CSUF: BS and Teaching Credential
Mrs. Alonso has taught for over 18 years in a Dual Language Immersion program. She has taught mainly in third grade but has also taught second and first grade. She began teaching at Willard Elementary School and is now at Webster Elementary, both of which are dual immersion program schools. Mrs. Alonso is truly dedicated to teaching in two languages. She believes in the power of being bilingual, biliterate, and the interaction between cultures. In her leisure, Mrs. Alonso enjoys reading, spending time with family, and traveling.

3rd Grade
Mrs. Gonsalves
Mrs. Gonsalves considers herself very lucky to be in the Dual Immersion Program at Webster Elementary. She has been at Webster for 22 years and has taught third through fifth grade. This school year, she is teaching third grade and is excited to see her students’ academic growth in both English and Spanish. Mrs. Gonsalves believes that being in the dual language program and learning a new language is far more than just acquiring new vocabulary. This program gives students a better understanding of a new culture and global citizenship. When she is away from Webster, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, tending to her garden and traveling.
